CONSIGNMENT & PURCHASING POLICY

We are now scheduling consignment appointments on Wednesday & Thursday Afternoons only
Drop offs on Sat after calling to arrange it (I can only accomadate 2 per Sat-lack of space) & they have to be in a bin or box-no bags!

It is important to us that we offer our customers great products at value prices. We look for clothing that is in-style with little wear, and toys and gear that meet today's safety standards. We cannot sell anything that has been recalled.
We book appointments for Wednesday, Thursday afternoons. Our appointments generally last half-hour to one hour and we are able to look through two (2) bins/totes of clothing or 25 items (toys and gear). We will display your items for 2 months. If there are unsold items after 2 months, you have the choice to pick them up or we can donate them on your behalf. You will receive 50% of the selling price items on consignment, and checks are made out on the 15th and 30th of every month. We also offer store credit in lieu of a check.
Don't want to bother with consignment? We will make you an offer at a lower percentage and write you a check on the spot.

Clothing
We purchase clothing from Preemie to size 10, and maternity. We are also interested in outerwear, dresswear and special occassion, pajamas, Halloween costumes and dress-ups, dance items, shoes and boots. As you look through your clothing, please be sure your clothing is free of stains and odors, excessive wear & fading, holes and missing pieces such as buttons. Sorry, we no longer purchase brands made exclusively for discount stores. We cannot purchase clothing with rhinestones due to possible lead content.

Dance & Sports Stuff
If you are no longer using your sports gear, bring that, too - leotards and tutus, ballet and tap shoes, soccer cleats and shin guards, baseball cleats and gloves. We're open to anything (we've had equestrian riding pants before!).

Toys, Puzzles, Games and Movies
Toys should still be sold on Amazon.com and not be on a safety recall list. DVD's should be free of scratches and in original packaging. To get the most for your items, please be sure they are assembled, clean and in working condition. We will have to offer less if they need cleaning and batteries.
Due to the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008, known as CPSIA, we can no longer take plastic toys containing pthalates (soft plastic toys that are flexible).

Baby Gear
"Gear" are items such as strollers, infant swings, bouncy chairs, highchairs, booster seats (for the table), baby carriers, walkers and exersaucers, etc.
Due to the aforementioned law, gear must be no older than 5 years and have all pieces. Exersaucers must have been manufactured after August 2008.

We cannot buy:
-Recalled items and toys missing pieces
-Car seats
-Infant bath tubs (unless complete with owner's manual)
-Stuffed animals
-Used bottles or bottle warmers
-Wipes warmers
-Crib mattresses and pillows
-Crib toys (that attach to rails)
-Electronic readers (such as Leadpad and Powertouch)
-Chalk boards
-Soft bath toys (hard plastic is okay)
-Helmets
-Potty chairs

Just a little hint: To get the most for things, make sure they are sellable before you bring them into the store. Meaning, would you buy it as it is?

We are always willing to donate what we cannot buy. All of our donations are given to Second Generation in Greenland and the Wonderland Thrift Shop in Exeter.
